Telefonica gives NFTs a dose of caffeine
Telefonica launched non-fungible tokens (NFT) back in the spotlightexpanding its market for digital IDs with a pair of offerings that it says could revolutionize Latin America’s coffee industry.
The Green and Carbon ranges use blockchain technology to adapt coffee production based on weather conditions and connect buyers to sellers.
There are ten different NFTs available across both ranges, granting “rights to virtual agricultural assets and sustainable projects.” Telefonica said this would help address challenges including “limited access to resources” and the need for greener techniques.
Telefonica explained that the tokens will allow investors to support specific projects in the areas of “renewable energy, sustainable agriculture and water conservation” to promote environmentally friendly coffee production methods. .

Yaiza Rubio, Telefonica’s metaverse director, said the expanded lineup would help make her project a “meeting place for those interested in the Web3 environment” as well as those “who are not very familiar with it.” these technologies.
