ShardLab Launches ZK-Based Tool for Digital Identity and NFT Vouchers
Blockchain developer ShardLab has launched a new web app aimed at simplifying the distribution of vouchers as NFTs.
ShardLab, a blockchain arm of venture capital firm web3 Choppedunveiled a web application leveraging account abstraction (AA) and zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs technology to simplify the use of decentralized identity and voucher distribution.
Using zk technology, the app can confirm the user’s identity without sharing private information. It also allows users to receive and redeem vouchers in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFT) via QR codes, ShardLab explained.
The company says the launch is a result of a successful outing at Southeast Asia Blockchain Week 2024, where attendees could integrate NFT vouchers into the point-of-sale (POS) systems of over 60 restaurants and stores at ICONSIAM, a themed mall in Bangkok.
“This implementation demonstrated the practicality and effectiveness of blockchain technology in a real-world retail environment,” says ShardLab.
The company noted that through account abstraction and NFTs, ICONSIAM participants could natively redeem their vouchers by scanning a QR code, automatically deducting the voucher amount from the invoice, without facing the traditional hurdles of using smart contracts.
“By integrating cutting-edge technologies such as zero-knowledge proofs and account abstraction, we are paving the way for a future where blockchain is not only secure but also simple and convenient for everyday users,” said Hojin Kim, CEO of ShardLab.
