NFT investor Animoca Brands plans to go public in 2025: report
Hong Kong-based blockchain investment firm Animoca Brands is reportedly considering a public listing in Hong Kong or the Middle East next year.
Animoca Brandsa blockchain software and investment company, would consider Initial Public Offering In Hong Kong or the Middle East in 2025, as the region signals its willingness to welcome more crypto investors.
In a interview, Animoca Brands co-founder Yat Siu revealed that Hong Kong-based web3, valued at nearly $6 billion in 2022, has already held discussions with investment banks. However, he still has to choose an advisor, Siu added.
For Animoca Brands, an IPO would not be a first in the company’s history, as it was previously listed on the Australian Securities Exchange, but was delisted in 2020 due to compliance issues.
The blockchain company owns more than 400 crypto assets, including play-to-earn game Axie Infinity, non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace OpenSea, and blockchain developer Dapper Labs, among others. The company has also raised more than $830 million in over 29 funding rounds from a pool of investors including Temasek Holdings, GSV Capital, Soros Fund Management and Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss’ venture capital firm .
