Animoca Brands subsidiary Eden Games announced Monday that it is developing Cosmic Royalea new blockchain-based kart racing game connected to the Animoca-centric Mocaverse blockchain identity and community platform.
Set to launch in the fourth quarter of this year, the Mario Kart-inspired racing game will also be part of Animoca’s Motorverse gaming ecosystem, which includes titles such as Torque Drift 2, REVV Racing and MotoGP Ignition.
Cosmic Royale features 40-player matches with multiple racing rounds and a survival-themed finale. The game will serve as a pilot experience for Cosmic Club, Mocaverse’s new social gamification platform. The initial trailer shows avatars from the NFT profile picture (PFP) projects Cool cats and the Bored Ape Yacht Clubalongside original characters.
“Each player can truly personalize their experience by importing their custom drivers and karts through our collaboration with different PFP collections, making each racer’s story unique and memorable,” Eden Games Creative Director David Nadal said in a press release.
Cosmic Royale will initially roll out in a limited-access beta, which will be available to Moca NFT holders and Moca ID owners starting July 24. These players can earn Realm Points (RP) through play, potentially qualifying them for a future MOCA Coin airdrop.
Mocaverse’s MOCA token launched last week via the platform’s Genesis airdrop, with the Ethereum token reaching a current market cap of $127 million via its price greater than $0.11.
While the beta is reserved for select NFT and ID holders, the full version of Cosmic Royale will be available for free on the Epic Games Store. Eden Games is best known for developing racing games, including Test Drive Unlimited and Gear.Club.
