Google Trends data for 2017 shows that among all searches originating from Surat, the proportion of ‘Bitcoin’ was higher when compared to other cities.
Interestingly, the list is filled with many other Indian names, including small neighborhoods like Pimpri-Chinchwad (Pune), which is in seventh place, and Gurugram, near Delhi, in eighth place. However, there are fine, blurred lines between “interest” that turns into “obsession” and the problematic space that exists between the two.
