Dr Disrespect Midnight Society NFT Game Prices Drop After Layoff
The price of Midnight Society’s Founders Pass NFT dropped by over $300 after the studio cut ties with Dr. Disrespect, with some now selling for as little as $45.
On June 24, Midnight Society – the studio that Dr Disrespect, real name Guy Beahm, helped found to launch the game DEADROP – severed ties with the streamer after being accused of being sending inappropriate messages to minors before his infamous ban from Twitch in 2020.
Beahm admitted the allegations on June 25, but claimed there was “no wrongdoing” and that the messages were simply “casual, mutual conversations.” He also addressed his exit from Midnight Societycalling it a “painful decision” to have to resign, but he didn’t want to “jeopardize the culture” of the studio.

A number of players have already abandoned the studio’s DEADROP title, calling it “dead” following the release of Doc.
On top of that, the price of the Midnight Society Founders Pass NFT also dropped, dropping by around $300. The last sale, according to Open Seaamounts to 0.0133 ETH, which is equivalent to $44.85 or £35.42.

Before that, sales had been around $400, with one piece even selling for $1,178. Many passes have gone on sale following the fallout, however, some unsold ones are sitting above the $100 mark as players look to recoup some of their investment.

Passes not only allowed players access to “instant” versions of DEADROP releases, but also gave them one-of-a-kind “Variant” characters, profile photos, as well as voting rights on game features .

There was also there were meetings with the studiowhich Beahm attended in his Dr Disrespect outfit, allowing pass owners to play against him on recent development builds of the game.
Beahm said he would return after an extended vacation, but he would no longer be involved with DEADROP.
