Cryptocurrencies surge on Trump shooting news (Cryptocurrency: TRUMP-USD)

Cryptocurrencies surged on Saturday night, shortly after former President Trump was shot while speaking at a campaign rally in western Pennsylvania.
Bitcoin (BTC-USD exchange rate) briefly dropped to around $58,448 as of 6:15 p.m. ET before rising 2.4% to $59,909 in the hours following.
Solana TRUMP meme coin more than doubled in value after news reports about the incident. MAGA coin increased by 30%.
The Secret Service carried Trump offstage bleeding around his ear after shots rang out at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump later said in a post on Truth Social, his social media platform, that he was “struck by a bullet that pierced the top of his right ear.”
The shooting was being investigated as an assassination attempt, law enforcement officials said. A spokesperson for the Secret Service said a rally attendee was killed in the shooting and that the alleged shooter was killed by the Secret Service.
