Alpha 3 and the very first NFT Mint for Moonfrost coming in July
Moon gel recently held a special meeting, Farming Fest Alpha Eventinviting players to try out an early version of the game. But, in a surprise announcement, the Moonfrost team revealed that this wasn’t just a playtest, but also a whitelisting event for their very first NFT, known as the Frost-Hunter Genesis Collection!
Frost-Hunter Genesis NFT Creation Information
Believe it or not, the Frost-Hunter Genesis collection will be the very first NFT created for Moonfrost! Despite two and a half years of development, the Moonfrost team has yet to sell a single NFT, or even launch its token – which is a bit different from most web3 gaming projects we see!
This collection will be a limited edition of 500 NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain. Frost-Hunter Genesis NFTs will offer guaranteed access to all upcoming alpha and beta tests and will also offer owners a chance to claim an airdrop of FROST tokens, the only crypto token that will be used in Moonfrost.
Whitelist and reserve list
The top 100 SHARDS collectors from the Farming Fest event will be added to the whitelist for this currency. You can Check your SHARDS balance here. Anyone who collected more than 14,580 SHARDS should have received a spot on the whitelist.
Moonfrost also held raffles for whitelist spots where players could use their SHARDS to participate, a raffle for everyone who completed all tasks during Farming Fest, and a raffle for everyone who played at least 60 minutes during Farming Fest. Additionally, a few whitelist spots were awarded to select community members and supporters.
Moonfrost only assigns one spot on the whitelist to each individual, ensuring that every NFT created is assigned to a unique owner. Everyone on the whitelist should have received an email at this point.
The Moonfrost team has also created a reserve list of players in case the NFTs aren’t all claimed in the first minting. Emails for the reserve list should be going out soon (or may have already been sent out depending on when you’re reading this). If the reserve list does come into play, the reserve list section of the minting will operate on a first-come, first-served (FCFS) basis.
If you have been selected for the whitelist or reserve list, be sure to check your email and fill out the required form in order to be eligible for the mint.
There will be no public minting of coins for the Frost-Hunter Genesis collection. The minting date and location have not yet been announced.
Alpha 3 of the moon jelly
Moonfrost plans to open Phase 3 of its alpha in July, though no specific date has been announced yet. This upcoming release will include a new social hub area known as The Village. This area will feature shops, NPCs, and other players!
Moonfrost won’t support character customization in Alpha 3 (though that feature is currently in development), but the team promises that players will have ways to identify each other while in the village.
Also expect to see some changes to how players collect SHARDS in Alpha 3 – and how they are placed on leaderboards – with the aim of making the distribution of SHARDS more equitable rather than too high.
SHARDS are an off-chain token and will be used as both an in-game currency and a points system that will somehow connect to the FROST token.
What is Moonfrost?
Moon gel is a free-to-play character-based farming game similar to Stardew Valley. Players grow and collect resources, craft items, decorate their homes, and attract a variety of NPCs to live in their town.
And while the main game will function as a single-player game, Moonfrost will also feature player interactions and will require an active internet connection to play. However, you don’t need to be online all the time. Activities with timers, like growing crops, will continue to progress when you’re offline. And animal lovers will be happy to know that Moonfrost promises that hunting won’t be part of the game.
