50 Cent was hacked by someone selling memecoins and it seemed to work
50 Cent was hacked by people selling a shilling worth of memecoins and apparently the system worked.
50 Cent said Saturday that his X/Twitter account and his website, ThisIs50, had been hacked and that the hacker had been promoting a cryptocurrency called $GUNIT — you know, like G-Unit, the rapper’s former group.
According to 50 Cent himself, the hacking was quite successful.
He he wrote Instagram: “My Twitter & Thisis 50.com was hacked and I have no association with this cryptocurrency. Twitter worked quickly to block my account again. Anyone who has ever done something like this has made $3,000,000 in 30 minutes.”
Speed of light mashable
There is no way to verify the numbers provided by 50 Cent. Cryptocurrencies offer scammers the opportunity to increase value and make quick money.
This isn’t an unusual scam after all. Some hackers take control of an important account and increase the value of some cryptocurrencies via posts. It seemed so happens to Hulk Hogan this month. This is made even more confusing by the fact that some celebrities, like rapper Iggy Azalea or Caitlyn Jenner, have actually flipped volatile coins.
50 Cent has been active in the cryptocurrency industry in the past, reportedly owns million dollars in Bitcoin, then people would fall in love with memecoin.
Be careful out there on the internet and don’t go around buying all the random cryptocurrencies.
