50 Cent Says Hackers Gain Access to His X (Twitter) Account and Made $3 Million in 30 Minutes in a Cryptocurrency Scam
Media mogul 50 cents claims to be the latest victim of Internet hacking.
The G-Unit founder said his social media account was recently accessed without his knowledge, claiming hackers made $3 million from a cryptocurrency scam run using his name.
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson he addressed the situation yesterday (Saturday 22 June) on his social pages, writing:
“My Twitter and Thisis 50.com have been hacked and I have no association with this cryptocurrency.”
Stating that the criminals walked away with a huge sum, he added:
“Twitter worked quickly to block my account again. Everyone who has ever done something like this made $3,000,000 in 30 minutes.
At the moment, not many details about the incident have been shared. 50 cents did, however, repost some X (formerly Twitter) users who caught the alleged hackers red-handed. Investor Mario Nawfal, who boasts over 1 million followers on the platform, first reacted to the situation on Friday (June 21), accurately assuming that the musician had been hacked. He has written:
“BREAKING: @50cent is posting something about his supposedly new memecoin $GUNIT and attacking Tate and his token. The memecoin currently has a market cap of less than $1 million, indicating that it is likely a hack. Not We can verify whether 50 Cent has been hacked, but my guess is yes.”
Mario Nawfal it later confirmed that all original tweets promoting the fake cryptocurrency had been deleted 50account of. No other details on the matter have been shared at this time.
